Background: Australian 40 mm L/60 high-explosive rounds were manufactured domestically during and after World War II. Production was distributed nationwide, from fuzes to explosive fillings, with each state contributing to component manufacture, while Western Australia notably produced steel shell bodies at the Kalgoorlie Ammunition Factory (MK).
